Important: Program rules are set by the City of Toronto and can change. Check toronto.ca for current eligibility before booking. We do not promise that you will qualify — we help you understand the program and do the work to the City's requirements.
Backwater valves
Up to $1,600 per device (max 2)
A backwater valve on the main sewer line stops city sewage from backing up into your basement during a storm.
Sump pump
Up to $2,250
A sump pump lifts collected groundwater out and away from your foundation. The subsidy covers the pump and basin installation.
Sump pump battery backup
Up to $300
A battery backup keeps your sump pump running during a power outage, which is exactly when you need it most.
Pipe severance and capping
Up to $400
Severing and capping the storm sewer connection directs groundwater to the sump pump instead of the city storm sewer.
Home plumbing assessment
Up to $500
A plumbing assessment by a licensed plumber identifies how your home's internal plumbing connects to the city system.

How the rebate works in practice
The subsidy is paid after the work is done. You pay us for the installation, we give you an invoice that meets the City's requirements, and you submit the application to the City with the supporting documents. The City reviews it and, if approved, pays the subsidy to you.
We install backwater valves, sump pumps, and pipe severance work to the City's program requirements so that your application has the documentation it needs. We do not decide whether you qualify — the City does — and we do not promise an outcome.
Because the program rules can change and each property is different, the first step is always a free inspection. We look at what your basement needs, tell you which items may be eligible, and give you a written quote. You then check the current rules on toronto.ca before booking the work.
